Leadership and Social Action
Workshops and programmes designed to help young people develop leadership qualities, confidence and the skills to create positive change within their communities.
Frenford’s Social Action and Leadership programmes empower young people to become active citizens and confident leaders within their communities. We believe that young people are not just the future, they are the present, and they deserve opportunities to lead, create change, and have their voices heard.
Our Social Action programmes are designed to support young people aged 13–21 develop leadership skills, explore social issues they care about, and design and deliver their own community projects. Through a blend of workshops, mentoring, and hands-on experience, participants grow in confidence, learn how to influence change, and build essential skills like public speaking, teamwork, and project management.
Other avenues to develop these key skills are our:
Youth Committee plays a central role in shaping the club's direction and ensuring our services reflect the real needs of young people. Many go on to represent Frenford at external events, join external youth advisory boards, and lead campaigns on mental health, inequality and more.
Our Future Coaches Programme, gives young people pathways into leadership roles in sport through coaching and referee qualifications, across our activities.
By creating a culture of youth-led action, we aim to inspire a generation of young leaders who are socially aware, community-minded, and ready to make a lasting impact.
