Team Opportunities
Competitive sporting pathways across a range of sports, giving young people opportunities to train, compete and represent Frenford in organised leagues and competitions.
Frenford offers a structured and inclusive pathway for young people who are ready to commit to team-based, competitive sport. Our team structure caters to a wide range of ability levels and is built around long-term player development, not short-term results.
Young people usually enter our team pathway through our open-access recreational sessions, where they’re identified by coaches and invited to trial. Though we do also run open trials when at certain points throughout the year.
We try to run multiple teams in each sport as our focus is on the age and stage of the player. Ensuring young people are placed in the right environment to grow both on and off the pitch. Every player is supported by qualified volunteer coaches, who deliver weekly training and matchday support.
At Frenford, being part of a team is about more than football, it’s about discipline, teamwork, leadership, community and holistic development of each young person.
For many, it’s also the start of a longer journey into coaching, refereeing or volunteering.
